Athlone Town play host to a Sunderland XI this Sunday in Athlone Town Stadium. The XI which will be managed by Keith Berschin, will contain players that have all had Premiership experience along with the best of their up and coming stars.
First team players Jean Y'ves Mvoto, Michael Kay, Robbie Weir, Liam Noble, Jamie Chandler, David Dowson, and Conor Hourihane have all been confirmed so far as travelling to Lissywoollen. These will be supplemented by players returning from the Amsterdam Tournament and members of their Championship winning reserves team from 2008/09 which contained a couple of under-age internationals.
Niall Quinn promised a very strong squad, and he has been true to his word and delivered that.
Four Sunderland Academy coaches will travel and hold coaching sessions with members of the ADSL Development Squads on the morning of the game in Lissywoollen.
A 32-page souvenir match day programme will be on sale at €5 and this will include entry into a draw for signed merchandise.
