Scenes of unbridled sporting joy unfolded in Evergreen Park KIlkenny on Sunday afternoon as St Joseph’s FC defeated Leeside to claim the prestigious U16 SFAI national title.

A first half Dylan Dennehy penalty was the pivotal moment of this eagerly contested showpiece fixture, the Cushla Park based team achieving consecutive national accolades with this merited victory.

Under the coaching guidance of Davey Cummins, Padraig Moran and Conor Foley, this team replicated the historic feat achieved in 2023 when St Joseph’s FC became the inaugural Athlone club to win a national SFAI title.

As is now tradition and to much acclaim, the management and players walked the prized silverware across the town bridge on Sunday night, the celebrations continuing this week at the Monksland club.
