It was a night to remember at Athlone Golf Club in recent times with the hosting of a magical on-course experience, the backdrop of a glowing sunset to the west, under a crisp, moonlit, starry night.
This was the setting for the club’s Lunar Golf fundraising event as LED fluorescent golf balls of all colours, akin to fireworks, rose and fell to glowstick greens and fairways, reaching through the pitch black darkness to echoes of shrieks of laughter in pockets all around, book-ended by music such as ‘Boogey Wonderland’, and high energy songs from Abba and other greatest hits from the on course music hut.
It was ‘Cloud 9’ in a weather high! Who could ask for anything more?
Upon the conclusion of on course matters, Athlone Golf Club restaurant chef, Piotr Gluszek, spoiled all those in attendance with generous food baskets to replenish the energy levels.
