Local councillor, Frankie Keena, has welcomed the provision of €10,000 for footpath improvements and repairs in Cornamaddy.

“After receiving numerous representations from local residents about the poor state of footpaths in Cornamaddy, I immediately contacted the council to carry out these necessary repairs.

“In fact, there was approximately 12 metres of a gap with where no footpath was in place, which, to me, is a severe health and safety issue that needed to be addressed.

“To that end, I secured the funding under the 2024 roads programme to carry out this work and now, I am delighted to say that the necessary repairs works are close to completion. The end result will be of major assistance to local residents and visitors to the area,” Cllr Keena said.
