Cllr Ollie Moore has welcomed the action which Roscommon County Council has taken against the contractors Ward & Burke Ltd who were responsible for the laying of pipes for the new sewage scheme in the Creagh, Ballinasloe area.
The county councillor for the Athlone area had made representations to Roscommon County Council with regard to the very poor condition in which the R357 Ballinasloe/ Shannonbrige Road, the Circular Road, and the Woodmount Road were left in after the contractors had finished their pipe laying.
Work has now commenced on repairing these roads with the contractors being made to employ an independent private firm to do so. Cllr Moore added that it is important that Roscommon County Council become tough on sub-standard work and is delighted the necessary action has been taken in this regard.
