Athlone & Castlerea Credit Union lead way towards sustainability at Go Green clinic

Athlone & Castlerea Credit Union is proud to announce its latest initiative towards building a sustainable future with the hosting of a Go Green Clinic in the Irishtown office on Friday, April 19, from 11am-2pm.

As part of a commitment to becoming a Sustainable Energy Community (SEC ), Athlone & Castlerea Credit Union are dedicated to educating its members and the local community about energy-saving practices and promoting energy efficiency.

The Go Green clinic is a dynamic event designed to empower individuals with the knowledge and resources needed to make environmentally conscious decisions around carrying out home energy upgrades to improve the running cost and energy efficiency of their homes. Through this initiative, Athlone & Castlerea Credit Union aim to highlight the importance of sustainability in the community and inspire action towards a greener future.

As a Sustainable Energy Community, we recognise the importance of empowering individuals with the knowledge and resources needed to make environmentally conscious decisions. By hosting this event, we aim to inspire action and drive positive change towards a greener future.

At the Go Green Clinic, attendees will have the opportunity to:

· Learn about the various SEAI Grants available for green home energy upgrades from Siobhan Kinahan from the Sustainable Energy Community.

· Explore the Reduced Rate Green Loans available from Athlone & Castlerea Credit Union which can support green home retrofits and electric car purchases

“By providing information on these resources, we hope to facilitate the adoption of sustainable practices among our members and the wider community. Our efforts aim to raise awareness about the energy transition and encourage individuals to play an active role in reducing their carbon footprint.

“Athlone & Castlerea Credit Union’s commitment to sustainability goes beyond financial services together with other credit unions across the country, we were appointed Sustainable Development Goal (SDG ) champions by the Department of the Environment, Climate and Communications for 2023 and 2024.
