The new Lexus LBX hybrid crossover is now available in Ireland in two trim levels: the entry-level ‘Elegant’ from €38,570, and the higher spec ‘Emotion’ model from €40,270.
The LBX has a 1.5-litre self-charging hybrid electric powertrain with a total output of 136 hp/ 100 kW with peak torque of 185 Nm, giving it a 0-100 km/h sprint of 9.2 seconds for the front-wheel drive model, and 9.6 with all-wheel drive. Official WLTP combined cycle figures indicate fuel economy from 4.4 l/100 km and CO2 emissions from 100 g/km.
Standard features of the Elegant trim includes pre-collision detection, pedestrian and cyclist detection, a rear-view camera, lane-trace steering and traffic sign recognition. It also has dusk sensor headlights, radar-guided cruise control, a speed limiter and front and rear parking sensors.
Inside, the entry-spec trim boasts pale Ammonite Sand leather upholstery, and has dual-zone climate control, ambient cabin lighting, a leather-trimmed steering wheel, a seven-inch digital instrument cluster, a 9.8-inch infotainment touchscreen with wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, cloud-based navigation, heated sports front seats with ‘Tahara’ leather trim, automatic high-beam headlights and 18-inch alloy wheels finished in a high-gloss dark grey.
The Emotion model, meanwhile, has black leather with contrast red stitching, 18-inch alloy wheels with a machined finish, privacy glass, keyless entry and ignition, extra USB-C sockets in the back, wireless phone charging and a two-tone exterior paint finish with a contrast roof colour.
The LBX is 4,190 mm long, 1,825 mm wide and 1,545 mm high and has a 2,580 mm wheelbase.
The exterior colour choices can be specified with bi-tone paintwork, combining any colour option with a contrasting black roof. This means there are 50 different colour options. (Pictured is Sonic Copper ).
With all rear seats in place, the load compartment in the front-wheel drive LBX extends to 402 litres, with space to carry two 75-litre suitcases beneath the tonneau board; in the all-wheel drive version there’s 317 litres. Rear seats can divide and fold 60/40.
