Community spirit was to the fore in recent times as the Brawny Residents’ Group participated in a very successful clean up of their estate.

Numerous volunteers, including children from the estate, united for the common clean up cause, the newly formed committee showing pride in their estate with this endeavour.

Local Fine Gael councillor, John Dolan, who has assisted the Brawny Residents’ Group with their community focus, praised the work of the committee.

“For a number of years there was no residents group in Brawny, so last year I helped to organise a meeting where a committee was formed, the intention being to make a start at on improving the appearance of the estate and to give due credit to Westmeath County Council, they have assisted with some funding and support for litter picks.

“It is great to see the enthusiasm of all those involved and from speaking with the council and other agencies, continued support will be afforded going forward to assist the committee,” Cllr Dolan said.
