Ballydangan Bog Red Grouse Project condemns shooting of white-tailed eagle

The Ballydangan Bog Red Grouse Project is horrified and saddened to learn about the shooting of a white-tailed eagle in south Roscommon.

The news is particularly upsetting because a white-tailed eagle has been observed frequenting the wider area in recent months, bringing optimism to the project team.

The project condemns the illegal killing of any protected species as being not only irresponsible but damaging to the interests of all local communities working hard to conserve Irish wildlife.

The Ballydangan Bog Red Grouse Project is urging anyone with further information to contact the Gardaí or NPWS.

Members of the public can contact the NPWS by calling 01 539 3418/email [email protected] or Roscommon Garda Station on 090 663 8300.

To speak to a project team member, phone Pat Dunning (087-6231125 ) or email [email protected].
