The recently hosted captains’ drive in at Athlone Golf Club marked the official start of the golf season on the fairways and greens of this majestic course nestled on the shores of Lough Ree.
Family members and friends of the respective captains, Yvonne Walsh and Eamon Farrell, gathered on the first tee, as both golfers found the fairway with their exquisite drives.
Amid bright sunshine and calm conditions, 128 members competed in a mixed scramble competition which was followed by celebrations in the clubhouse.
