USIT, Ireland’s leading provider of work and travel programmes, has announced the criteria for graduates wishing to apply for its Graduate USA Programme 2024, along with application cut-off dates.
Graduates eager to participate in this unique and flexible programme are encouraged to submit their applications promptly to avoid disappointment. Those who graduated in May/June 2023 are required to apply 10 weeks before the same date this year, as participants must depart Ireland within 12 months of their Graduation Certificate date.
USIT’s 1 Year Grad USA Programme is immensely popular amongst Ireland’s young graduates, offering a fast track to career progression in the working industry and the opportunity to stand out with international experience. The programme includes destinations across the US, with New York, Boston, and San Francisco being amongst the favourites for USIT graduates.
Participants are also privy to a valuable overseas community of networking opportunities across the US, like a recent Graduate Gateway event on February 22nd specifically for Irish graduates in New York. USIT graduates, amongst Irish Work and Travel Visa Holders, heard from a panel of career development experts on professional pathways in the US.
Olga Adamovich, USIT’s Chief Product and Innovation Officer, says that USIT was delighted to be part of the recent Graduate Gateway event in New York City that brought together key stakeholders involved in the Grad USA program journey for Irish graduates to explore their career pathways in the US.
“Through the collaborative efforts of the Emerald Island Immigration Center, Digital Irish, IBO, and other partners the event was a fantastic success for all who attended. Leveraging the diverse perspectives and expertise within the community at the Gateway event allowed for open conversation and great guidance for graduates, as well as current and prospective employers. The Grad USA program is a very powerful way to build meaningful connection between US and Ireland, fostering deeper transatlantic collaboration and transforming long-term career potential for young Irish graduates,” Ms Adamovich said.
To be eligible for USIT’s Grad USA Programme, participants must be over 18, hold a valid Irish passport, and be a final year student or recent graduate from a full-time Level 6 degree or higher. Applications are accepted year-round, but processing takes 10 weeks and places are limited, so timely consideration is crucial. Final year students may only travel after completing their exams, and recent graduates must enter the US within 12 months of graduation. Those studying at 3rd level holding other passports are eligible to apply for USA Internship & Trainee programs with USIT.
Participants of USIT’s Grad USA Programme have pursued various fields, including Accounting, Advertising, Architecture, Business, Communications, Engineering, Event Management, Fashion, Hospitality, Law, and the Sciences. USIT boasts access to a significant pool of US employers and works exclusively with some of the country’s leading brands, with past graduates securing coveted positions at renowned organisations such as Columbia Pictures, Dell, Diane Von Furstenberg, Universal Music Group, KPMG, and many more.
The Grad USA programm offers flexibility, allowing customers to source their position after arriving in the US, without the need to have a job secured beforehand. The programme costs €1,999, with only a €199 deposit due at booking.
This year, USIT is providing two special discounts for travellers availing of their Grad Programme. A loyalty offer of €400 off is available to those who have previously used USIT, applicable for any future travel as long as you are eligible and have travelled with USIT on a J1 or Camp USA programme.
