The Sheraton Athlone was complete with excitement and celebration as Athlone GAA hosted their annual dinner dance on Saturday night.
with over 220 guests in attendance, the occasion was a festive affair packed with activities, delicious food, and plenty of dancing, making it a night to remember.
During the event, Athlone GAA proudly unveiled Aircoach as the official sponsor of their men’s team, showcasing a promising partnership for the future. The night brought joy to many attendees as various prizes were awarded, including a luxurious weekend Tesla rental for Ellen O’Connell, a night for two with dinner in the Hyatt Centric hotel in Dublin won by Davey O’Neill and cash prizes of €500 each for Donna McKnight and Cora O’Rourke.
A highlight of the evening was a special segment dedicated to the rich heritage of Athlone GAA, where historical match reports dating back to the late 1800s were shared, underscoring the deep roots and traditions of the club.
As the event continued into the early hours, guests danced the night away to the vibrant tunes of Bowtie and DJ Dave, creating a lively atmosphere filled with camaraderie and joy.
All County Football Leagues
The club’s adult mens teams will return to competitive action this weekend with the start of the All County Football Leagues. The senior team begin their Division 1 campaign at home to Shandonagh on Friday, February 23 at 8pm, while in Division 4 the club’s juniors travel to Mullingar to play St Loman’s in Lakepoint Park on Saturday, February 24, throw-in at 7.30pm.
