Pauline Bliss, who hosts the Slimming World group in St Kieran's Community Centre, Athlone, this week stated that with over 50 years experience in food, building a physically active lifestyle and the psychology of mindset and behaviour change for lasting weight loss is now very much possible.
"This year, we have redesigned our new member packs. They are packed with insights, inspiration and ignition! Knowledge is power and we’ve tapped into the results from months of research gained from our member and potential member insight programme.
"Using what we’ve learned, we’ve created a super-effective, visually gorgeous rocket-pack that – together with a wealth of ideas and support from each one of us Slimming World consultants and our amazing groups – will blast each and every member to weight loss success," Pauline said.
"We’ve made sure that for 2024, everything relating to Food Optimising is together in one place – the Food Optimising book! A quick welcome from our founding CEO, Margaret is on the opening page and is packed with reassurance and empathy. Margaret’s message talks about the simplicity of eating in or out, personalising our plan and fitting it around family life. Then, it’s straight into the three extra easy steps and the Free Food, Healthy Extra and Syns pages – essential knowledge for new members’ early success, which we know sets them up for lifelong success, too.
"We’ve taken a similar approach in Choose Success – getting almost straight into the journal pages – inspiring members to do some powerful thinking and make valuable plans from day one, and for those all-important first six weeks.
"We’ve placed QR codes throughout the books, starting from page four, to encourage members to download the Slimming World app and get instant access to a wealth of between-groups support," Sinead Morris, who hosts the group in the Shamrock Lodge, added.
"Across all of our books, we’ve simplified some of our messages, moved pages, created new sections and included key learning in a way that will help members get started quickly and find the information they need to succeed. Two examples are the Weightwise points throughout the Free Food and Healthy Extras pages, and Steps to Success in the Syns section – deliberately succinct but powerful. They’re written to give our members a clear, straightforward and accurate way to build and understand essential Food Optimising know-how… with more ‘how it works’ later in the book for anyone who loves to get into the detail.
"They are there to build knowledge and confidence around Food Optimising that will help members make powerful swaps, form lasting habits and bring great weight losses – in their early weeks, and every week," Carol Doran Joyce, who runs the group in Kiltoom Parish Hall, remarked.
"Many members aren’t aware of just how much additional support Slimming World offers to people at different life stages, such as pregnancy or menopause, or for those members with particular dietary needs and health conditions. We have expert support for everyone – we have special support and resources for all members. Food Optimising is healthy, enjoyable and easy to follow for the long-term," Yvonne Briscoe, who hostss the group in the Shearwater Hotel, remarked.
All Slimming World members, existing AND new, will get one of these fabulous newly re-designed new member packs, when they attend group, from December 26 onwards.
