Athlone Emergency Defibrillator Group install new medical device at The Bounty

The Athlone Emergency Defibrillator Group has welcomed the provision of another publicly accessible medical device at the Bounty.

Speaking to the Athlone Advertiser, chairperson of the group, Cllr John Dolan, noted that the placing of the defibrillator at The Bounty will allow access, if required, to a large swathe of the town’s urban population.

“On behalf of the group, I wish to express my thanks to Tom and Paschal of the Bounty for providing our latest defibrillator location and for allowing access to their facilities for relevant meetings and training.

“This defibrillator covers a large residential area as well as all those players who use the Buccaneers facilities. Once again, thanks to Dave McGovern of DMG electrical for installing the defibrillator and for all his help in the past.

“”This is yet another goal achieved as we aim to provide a defibrillator within four minutes of any cardiac arrest situation in the Athlone area. If any group or locality wishes to contact any member of our committee with regard to providing a defibrillator in their area please do. It may help save some ones life in the future,” Cllr Dolan stated.
