Bealnamulla Ladies Football Club claimed category success at the recently hosted Aviva Broker Community Fund Awards.
The progressive club, which has been in existence since the mid 1990’s was awarded a cash prize of €15,000, funding which will go towards the construction of new dressing rooms at the club’s home pitch in South Roscommon.
Nominated for the accolade by Conor Kelly, of Planalife, Athlone, Bealnamulla FC is steeped in success and history. The only all-female football club in South Roscommon with 160 ladies currently registered to play, Bealnamulla FC has won countless league titles and cup wins at all age levels, including numerous international honours with teams at under 8s, under 11s, under 12s, under 14s, under 16s and at senior level.
Speaking this week, Club PRO, Laure McCoy, stated the funding award is a “massive boost” and congratulated expressed her gratitude to Conor Kelly of Planalife for the nomination.
“We are delighted to be announced as joint winners in our category at the Aviva Broker Community Fund awards, winning €15,000. This money will go towards the construction of four new dressing rooms at our location in Bealnamulla which will be a massive boost for our club,” Laura said.
