The proceeds of this year’s Nuts About Charity Fancy Dress fundraising cycle will go to Athlone Wheelchair Association, Athlone Rape Crisis Centre, St Hilda’s, and Athlone Chernobyl Project.
The cycle takes place on Sunday July 19 for the fourth consecutive year and thanks to generous local support this fun event has raised substantial amounts of money in the last number of years for local charities. In 2006, the first cycle raised €20,000, in 2007 the cycle raised €45,000 and €52,000 was raised last year.
The cycle fundraising committee is once again calling on the people and businesses of Athlone and surrounding areas to support the event. Any contribution large or small will be greatly appreciated.
