Dozens of business owners join forces every Wednesday morning from 7am until 8.30am to attend the weekly breakfast meeting of the Gateway Chapter of Business Network International in the Prince of Wales Hotel, Athlone.
BNI teaches business people that networking is all about farming and not hunting; it's about developing relationships and educating others as to what it is you do.
Chapter director Shane O'Flaherty from Clarence O'Flaherty & Co is delighted to report that in excess of €250,000 worth of business has been passed between members since the Chapter was launched last September. Shane explains that BNI is based on givers gain - “If I give you business, you will want to give me business”.
But don’t take it from Shane. Here’s what Chapter members are saying:
“BNI is fast becoming my best client,” says Mike Ganly from First Choice Executive Chauffeur Car Services.
And Keith, from KK Print says, “BNI has allowed our business to continue to remain busy in these recessionary times. Our BNI colleagues recommend our business to their business contacts, clients and friends, giving us that extra edge we need to sell our printing services.”
The Gateway Chapter is currently accepting new members, but as BNI has a very strict policy of only allowing one person from each profession or trade it is important to check with the Chapter director if your category is available and you can do so by e-mailing [email protected] and if your profession or trade is available you will be welcome to attend a Wednesday morning breakfast meeting to see how BNI can help you build and grow your business.
