Athlone Emergency Defibrillator Group has expressed their gratitude to Athlone & Castlerea Credit Union for their recent sponsorship.

Group chairman John Dolan and secretary Chris Cahill collected the sponsorship cheque on behalf of the group.

“I want to thank Athlone & Castlerea Credit Union for not only giving us this sponsorship, but for providing a publicly accessible rescue ready defibrillator at their premises. We are encouraging more businesses and housing estates in Athlone and the surrounding areas to provide and maintain publicly accessible defibrillators. If they do, our group will provide free instruction in CPR.

“I also want to thank David McGovern of DMG electrical for his help in this regard and all defibrillator installations which he does so free of charge for our group. If any business or estate is interested in installing a defibrillator which can be publicly accessible and registered with the National Ambulance Service please contact any member of our committee and we would be delighted to have a chat about it,” Cllr Dolan stated.
