Non-stop bus route service from Athlone to Dublin will commence at end of September

A new non-stop Citylink bus service from Athlone to Dublin city and airport will commence in September, the company confirmed this week.

The new route will become operational on Monday, September 25, and will be open for bookings from the start of the month.

The bus route starts in Castlebar and will have stops in Claremorris, Tuam, Athlone (TUS ), Dublin city and Dublin airport.

The timetable for the route is being finalised at present but Citylink has stated that it would include six return journeys per day, seven days a week.

“This new route allows us to provide a reliable transport solution to more communities. Our company is committed to making strategic and significant investments across the Citylink network to ensure stronger levels of connectivity are achieved, as well as ensuring our passengers are getting the best possible value,” Citylink’s Regional General Manager, Frances Cahill, commented.

Pre-booking of services on the new route will open on the Citylink website from Friday, September 1, and there will be a limited introductory offer of €5 fares each way (terms and conditions apply ).
