Bus Éireann Ireland’s national bus company, is encouraging Athlone and Midlands region passengers to take the bus when travelling to Ireland West Airport Knock this summer.

Young adult passengers can travel on Route 440 Athlone/Westport services to Ireland West Airport Knock for as little as €3.85 using the TFI Go App, while adults can travel for just €7.70 using their Leap card.

“With the summer holiday season in full swing we would like to encourage our passengers to take some of the stress out of their holiday plans . Travelling by bus to Ireland West Knock Airport is the ideal way to begin your journey, passengers can sit back and relax in comfort, with no need to worry about fuel costs or parking. Our services to Knock Airport are frequent, with four daily services operating from Athlone, Monday to Saturday and three services on a Sunday. More people than ever are using our services, passenger numbers nationally are 20-30% higher than they were in 2019, we look forward to connecting our customers to Knock Airport and beyond.

Bus Éireann Route 440 Athlone to Westport serves Kiltoom, Lecarrow, Knockcroghery, Ballymurray, Roscommon Hospital, Ballymoe, Ballintober, Castlerea, Ballinlough, Ballyhaunis, Claremorris, Knock, Ireland West Airport, Swinford, Castlebar and Westport. The first morning service arrives at Ireland West Knock Airport at 8.47am and the last departure from Ireland West Knock Airport leaves at 20.28pm.

The TFI Go app allows you to buy tickets directly from your phone, your ticket is downloaded to the app and can be used to travel straight away. There is no need for printing, just activate before each journey and show your driver while boarding.
