A momentous occasion in his sporting career awaits Rosemount native, Ronan Foxe, as he awaits participation in the U20 rugby world cup final, France providing the opposition in the Athlone Sports Stadium on Friday evening (kick off, 6pm ).

Having played a pivotal role in Ireland’s route to the final, Foxe will be hoping for the ultimate reward come the shrill of the final whistle, he and his teammates having performed heroically since the start of the tournament on June 24.

An opening game draw with England was bettered by positive results over Australia and Fiji in the group phase of the competition, Sunday’s 19 point success over the hosts South Africa securing a much deserved place in the showpiece fixture.

With sporting history beckoning for Foxe and his playing colleagues, the tight knit community of Rosemount will most certainly be avidly tuning in on Friday evening in the hope of further acclaim becoming bestowed upon the village!
