Cupra, the high-performance subsidiary of Seat, has unveiled the Tavascan, its first all-electric SUV coupe, and its second fully electric model after the Cupra Born.
Set to be launched in 2024, the Tavascan is based on the Volkswagen Group’s MEB platform and will be available with two power outputs: 210kW (286PS ) and 250kW (340PS ).
The car is said to be capable of a range of around 550km thanks to its 77kWh net capacity battery pack. The brand says 0-100km/h is possible in just 5.6 seconds.
Cupra claims the Tavascan can be charged from 10-80 per cent in just under half an hour using a 135kW charging point.
This new model boasts a 15 inch infotainment system - the largest so far in a Cupra model - with a newly designed and developed Human Machine Interface (HMI ). A 12-speaker audio sound system is also as standard.
The Cupra Tavascan will be produced at the Volkswagen Group’s Anhui factory in China.
Since the brand's launch back in 2018, Cupra has become one of the fastest growing automotive brands in Ireland, and has sold well over 1,200 units here in the past 18 months.
