Féile silverware was garnered by the Athlone girls U15 playing squad and management this past weekend, the club’s participation in an eight team tournament in Blessington successfully rewarded with a two point final winning margin.
The team had progressed to this stage of the competition following their county success in June and won two from three round robin fixtures to advance to the shield final where they defeated Glo/Herts.
Prior to their departure for County Wicklow, the playing squad were presented with training tops, half-zip tops, shorts, socks and bags through sponsorship from local businesses, family and friends of the girls. This, they wore with pride, representing the club with honour during the tournament.
