Athlone native, Lorcan Fagan, scaled new heights this past weekend as he completed the gruelling Trail 100 Andorra course on Sunday afternoon.
Part of the UTMB World Series, this 105km trail running expedition, with an elevation gain of 7,000 metres, scales peaks in the Pyrenees, testing the physical and mental limits of all participants while exploring the beauty and cultural heritage of Andorra.
Starting his expedition at 6am on Saturday morning, the avid trail runner completed the course in 32 hours, four hours prior to the 36 hour cut-off duration permitted for all competitors - a feat which certainly deserves to be lauded.
