Let’s get toddling in Westmeath for Barnardos with Ireland’s youngest heroes

Barnardos children’s charity has launched its annual Big Toddle with the support of ambassador Amy Huberman.

The theme this year, Big Toddle, Little Heroes, celebrates Ireland’s youngest fundraisers who help vulnerable children their own age by completing a fun half-mile sponsored walk in their crèche, childcare group, pre-school or with their families.

Over the last 20 years, toddlers from across the country have raised an impressive €4.46 million in support of Barnardos Early Years services. This work focuses on some of the youngest and most vulnerable children to come through our doors and ensures that they get the best start in life.

“I am delighted to be part of Barnardos Big Toddle and most importantly to support the work of Barnardos. I have been an ambassador for 10 years now and supporting children to have a better start in life is something very close to my heart. So, to join in the fun, register today at www.barnardos/bigtoddle Enjoy and happy toddling everyone,” Big Toddle ambassador Amy Huberman said.

“The Big Toddle at 20 years old is such a huge achievement for all our little heroes who have supported our vulnerable families and children across the country for so long. We sincerely thank everyone who has made it such a success. At Barnardos, we know that childhood lasts a lifetime and with the continued help of Ireland’s littlest fundraisers, we can reach even more vulnerable children who need us. Get involved by registering your family or creche online at barnardos/bigtoddle,” Barnardos Director of Fundraising, Mary Gamble, added.

Whether you’re a crèche owner, a parent or a childminder, you can organise your own Barnardos Big Toddle anytime in May or June by registering at www.barnardos.ie/bigtoddle - your support ensures that some of the youngest and most vulnerable children in Ireland are given the best possible start in life.
