The Féile Na Sionainne committee recently hosted a successful fundraising table quiz as thoughts turn towards the three day Irish culture occasion which will grace the streets of Athlone from August 6-8 inclusive.
The Bounty Bar & Venue was brimming with quiz enthusiasts from all corners of the community and beyond. The well attended quiz was the first of several events that will be taking place in the run up to those all-important dates in August.
The committee would like to acknowledge the tremendous support they have received thus far, especially the local businesses who have been instrumental in helping get everything off the ground, and to all who have been lending their time and assistance to making Féile na Sionnainne a reality for the town of Athlone.
It has been approximately 70 years since the Fleadh took place in Athlone and if the enthusiasm from the quiz is mirrored, the town will be a hive of cultural activity from August 6-8.
The group have social media pages on Facebook and Instagram so you can follow their progress and keep up to date with all-things Fleadh related.
The next event, a traditional Irish music occasion, will take place in Athlone’s Little Theatre on May 31 at 8pm. Tickets for this event are available in Sabrosa Restaurant or alternatively, send a message to one of the Feile na Sionainne social media platforms and they will respond promptly.
