Athlone Photography Club host Drama Festival ‘Stealing Moments’ exhibition

As part of the All Ireland RTE Drama Festival, the Athlone Photography Club (APC ) is currently hosting an exhibition entitled ‘Stealing Moments’ until Saturday, May 6, in the Athlone Town Centre.

This exhibition presents a collection of photographs ranging from the closest study of an avocado to the outer reaches of our galaxy. Ken Browne, an active member and one of the APC event leads, collated the exhibition involving selection and display mounting all photos from club members, with the support of his wife Stéphanie, Helen Maloney and Brigid Mullooly. Paul Grogan, another club lead, printed all the photographs and without him there would have been no exhibition.

For this temporary exhibition, partly grant-funded by the Westmeath County Council, Ken included 39 images that scored high in our quarterly challenges as well as photos from less experienced members. The aim of the exhibition is to showcase the various styles and strengths of the club overall.

The Athlone Photography Club meets every second Wednesday, from September to June, in the Abbey Road Artists’ Studios, located across from the Radisson Blu in Athlone. Feel free to get in touch with club secretaries, Sébastien and Ciara via Facebook, Instagram or email ([email protected] ) if you would like to learn about the club. The club’s next meeting takes place on Wednesday, May 17.
