Tuar Ard Arts Centre to host screening of Living as part of a nationwide film showing

This May, the Bealtaine Festival will end its three-year theme of In(ter )dependence – inspired by Ireland’s centenary as a sovereign nation and also in recognition of our interdependence with each other and the natural world.

To coincide with the festival Access Cinema and the Irish Film Institute have organised a nationwide film tour. As part of this tour Tuar Ard is delighted to screen the acclaimed film Living on Tuesday, May 9, at 8pm.

Film Synopsis

Mr Williams (Bill Nighy ) is a diligent but rather dour bureaucrat, working as a civil servant in post-war London. Overwhelmed at work and lonely at home, his life takes a heart-breaking turn when a medical diagnosis tells him his time is short. Stunned by the news, he abandons his usual routine. Chance encounters with a rebellious writer and a youthful colleague help Mr Williams discover a whole new perspective on both his life and work. Led by Bill Nighy’s perfect performance, Living is a film that will leave you reflecting on the things you appreciate in your own life.

Admission to the film screening is free of charge.
