Camogie

Southern Gaels had another first this week when the Under 10 squad travelled to Tyrrellspass to play in a camogie blitz with teams from Cullion and St Brigids (Dalystown ).The girls played extremely well winning all of their games. But more importantly, they enjoyed all their games and can’t wait for the next blitz. It was lovely to see them kitted out in their new Glenveagh Homes sponsored gear. Thanks to all the players, mentors and parents who made the trip.

Under 17 League

Southern Gaels 7-17 Fr Dalton’s 5-5

Southern Gaels took a significant step towards their quest for a league final place when they defeated their neighbours from Ballymore last week. Back to almost a full squad they took command of proceedings early on and won quiet comfortably. Should they defeat Longford Slashers and St. Brigids they should make the final.

Under 13 League

Well done to the club’s Under 13 side who enjoyed a 7-5 to 3-1 win over a very competitive Cullion side last week. Their next game is against Wolf Tones from Longford.

Marist College

Well done to the Marist College senior hurlers and their coach, Ciara Corcoran, who qualified for the North Leinster Senior ‘C’ final with a comfortable win over Enfield last week.

Under 20 Hurling

Well done to Cian McCarthy who played with the Westmeath Under 20 side in their Leinster Quarter-final against Wexford. Unfortunately they lost out by four points.
