USIT announces virtual event for Intern/Grad USA work and travel programme

USIT, the leading provider of the Grad USA programme in Ireland has announced a virtual event on March 13 to give graduates an insight into everything they need to know to apply for the work and travel programme.

The event comes weeks after USIT welcomed the signing of a Statement of Intent between US Ambassador to Ireland, H.E. Claire Cronin and Minister of State for European Affairs and Defence, Peter Burke TD committing to extend the US-Ireland Intern Work & Travel programme for a further five years.

First established in 2008, the Intern Work and Travel programme allows Irish citizens or permanent residents of Ireland, who are students or recent graduates, to spend up to 12 months living and working in the US. Once in the US students have 90 days to secure a job and it must be related to their field of study. American work experience is often revered as some of the best in the world so graduates who do make the leap and take advantage of this visa find it very easy in securing a job when they come back to Ireland.

Leading provider of the programme, USIT will be hosting a their next virtual Grad USA event in 13 March from 5.30 PM which will enable students and recent graduates to meet with USIT Grad USA specialists and past participants of the programme to gauge what destination might suit them best and how to start the application process. Graduating students 2023 and 2022 graduates can begin their application process now and decide whether they would like to work across the USA with two of USIT’s most popular spots being New York and San Francisco.
