Moate based Irish Rural Link host briefing with Portuguese counterparts

União das Mutualidades Portuguesas (UMP ) are the representative organisation of the extensive ‘Mutualist’ movement in Portugal (social economy co-operative organisations ) who provide a wide array of health and social services to their membership of 2.5 million Portuguese citizens.

UMP were visiting Galway as part of the Beyond Neet Erasmus + Project where they are partners with Moate based, Irish Rural Link. The project works to support young people in their volunteer activity. For further information please visit (beyondneet.mutualismo.pt ).

Youthreach Galway and the Galway Community Training Centre are also taking part in the project. Irish Rural Link, formed in 1991, represents the interests of locally based rural groups in disadvantaged and marginalised rural areas by highlighting problems, advocating appropriate policies, sharing experiences and examples of good practice.
