Sleigh bells will be ringing loudly over Athlone Castle this Saturday, December 17, as Santa and his trusted elves will be on site for a very special day to meet the boys and girls from Athlone and surrounding Midlands areas.
Children and their parents will be greeted by Santa’s elves and will be guided through a Christmas wonderland with fun activities and Christmas themed arts and crafts where they will make Christmas ornaments and stockings to take home or to place on the Christmas tree in Athlone Castle.
Before they arrive at Santa’s grotto, children will get the opportunity to write their letter to Santa, which they can hand deliver to the man himself. Santa will be checking his ‘Nice List’ to see if all the boys and girls have been really good this year and if so, Santa will hand each and every child a very special gift. There will be plenty of seasonal photo opportunities in the Castle – so don’t forget to bring your camera!
Families are advised that pre-booking for their visit to Santa is essential to avoid disappointment as places will fill fast. Tickets for the event will cost €20 per child, €12 per U2s and €7 per adult. All children must be accompanied by an adult.
This will include entrance to Athlone Castle Visitor Centre, festive Christmas crafts corner, a visit and chat with Santa and maybe a photo or two, and a Christmas gift. This Christmas experience will last for approx 45 minutes and starts at 10.30am with the last booking at 4.30pm.
The event is supported by Creative Ireland and Westmeath County Council. Online bookings only. To book your place visit www.athlonecastle.ie/events
