The Westmeath senior football management team has been finalised with the addition of former Dublin All-Ireland medal winner, Jason Sherlock, a major boost to Des Dolan’s ambitions as he aims to successfully navigate his maiden season at the Lake County helm.
Sherlock, who won an All-Ireland senior football medal in 1995 (the same day on which Westmeath won the minor football final ), was a vital member of Jim Gavin’s management team during Dublin’s five in a row winning sequence and will fill the role of performance coach with the reigning Tailteann Cup champions.
Upon his appointment as manager, Dolan stated that he wished to maintain the core of the management team which worked so cohesively under the guidance of his predecessor, Jack Cooney.
Having done so, Dolan has further increased Lake County supporters’ aspirations with the addition of Sherlock, whose sideline experience will be crucial to Westmeath’s competitive ambitions in 2023.
