Luan Gallery hosted an informative Artists’ Talk with artist, curator, writer and arts consultant, Neva Elliott, in conversation with exhibiting artists, Swiss-Italian photographer, Ugo Ricciardi and Irish artists, Sarah Edmondson, Mary Martin and Niamh McGuinne, working collaboratively as the Midden Collective.
Each artist discussed their exhibited works, art practice, and the concept and themes behind their exhibitions. NIGHTSCAPES by Swiss-Italian photographer Ugo Ricciardi is an exhibition of photographic, large-scale prints, and video works from Ricciardi’s ongoing Nightscapes project. MIDDEN comprises a captivating series of new and existing works in painting, print, sculpture, installation, and video projection by Edmondson, Martin, and McGuinne, working collaboratively as the Midden Collective.
Neva Elliott is an artist and freelance arts consultant who has exhibited in Ireland and worldwide, including at the Royal Hibernian Academy, Dublin, VISUAL Centre for Contemporary Art, Carlow, the National Gallery of Ireland and the South African National Gallery.
Her residencies include the International Artists Residency in Argentina, West Cork Arts Centre and The Limerick City Gallery of Art. She has curated, spoken and written on art practice, and given talks for Visual Artists Ireland, Wexford Arts Centre and the Luan Gallery.
