Whizzkids Summer Camps celebrates its 20th anniversary this summer and during this past two decades has garnered a great reputation for providing a fun and educational experience for children/.
Focused on developing tech skills in eight-15 year olds, they will host camps in TUS Athlone and nine other university campuses across Ireland in July and August.
Classes are organised by age and all material is age appropriate. It doesn’t matter if you have prior experience or are just starting out, they have projects to suit all levels. From the basics of scratch programming to HTML/CSS and Python they will develop valuable coding skills - but it’s not all code, there’s animation, game development, 3D modelling, web design, bots and microbits so students can build up a strong foundation in digital skills. Throw in sports and puzzles and you have a fun and varied day.
All equipment is provided in the high quality university facilities. The programme is delivered by experienced educators that are bang up to date with what’s hot in the tech world. Feedback from parents and children alike is hugely positive and they rank a very impressive 4.9 stars in Google rankings.
Camps run Monday to Friday from 9.30am-1pm or 3.30pm. Half day camps cost €120/€110, full day camps costing €175/€160 for the week.
