Independent People with Disabilities will host the annual 'Disability and Older Persons' information day in conjunction with the Disability Subgroup of Westmeath Community Development Ltd and Westmeath County Council on Monday, May 30.
This event is very popular within the county and attracts a wide variety of individuals with disabilities, older people looking for information on all disabilities and those looking for advice on different issues relating to housing, access or employment.
"Following two years of lockdown due to the pandemic with meetings and conferences being hosted online it will be a great opportunity to meet with individuals in person giving a more realistic feel to the event.
"While the lockdowns were good for keeping everybody safe, we were actively involved in helping people over the phone and where possible we would meet in person always adhering yo social distancing measures.
"At present we are refurbishing our office to which all are invited to visit at 96 Seán Costello Street, Athlone, where we would only be too glad to give you help and advice as needed," Michael Mulvey, Independent People with Disabilities, stated.
