The Aidan Heavey library in Athlone’s civic centre will host a public event to mark ‘Poetry Day’ on Thursday, April 28.
The Poetry in the Park group presents ‘Written in the Stars’ for Poetry Day Ireland, the theme for the event relating to fate, predestination, and what is written in the stars.
The Midlands public are requested to gather in the reading are of the library at 5pm to celebrate the spoken word and all are welcome to read, recite, or listen to verse about destiny.
Poetry in the Park is a community event, open to all ages and nationalities. It is normally held on the first Sunday of every month at 2pm, in Burgess Park, Athlone.
All are welcome to come along.
