Successful Cill Óige underage teams celebrate with presentation evening

The communities of Castledaly and Rosemount united in recent times to celebrate the inaugural achievements of both the Cill Óige girls U14 and Cill Óige boys U15 playing squads who were successful in their respective county competitions.

Both teams were presented with their county medals in Rosemount GAA clubhouse which was adorned with the Cill Óige colours for the occasion.

Special guests on this medal presentation occasion were Westmeath players Emma Kelly, Lorcan Dolan, Andy McCormack and the All-Ireland Westmeath winning captain Fiona Claffey.

Fiona was delighted to present the medals to the girls’ team and remarked on their amazing achievement of winning a county final in their first season together.

Lorcan also commented on how important it is to mark these occasions and celebrate the successes as winning two county finals is a huge achievement

Joe Sheerin, Joe Farrell and Padraig Maxwell spoke and expressed their gratitude to both Rosemount and Castledaly GAA clubs in helping to establish the Cill Óige club which now allows the same opportunities for the girls and boys of the communities.

All the Cill Óige teams gave hours of joy and entertainment to supporters, families and friends throughout the year and to be able to come together last week to mark the achievements was a proud moment for the club.
