Athlone Castle will celebrate the Easter holiday with an exciting and fun filled onsite family event taking place on Easter Saturday, April 16.
During this fun packed day, our young visitors are invited to take part in an Easter trail through Athlone Castle Visitor Centre where they will learn fun facts about Irish Easter customs and traditions. At the end of the trail, the young ‘eggsplorers’ will find a colouring station and a special screening of Athlone Castle’s inspired Easter story.
This Easter themed story was custom created for this event by Eoghan Burke also known as Fia Rua. Eoghan is a stage and screen actor, a talented musician and storyteller whose story will bring the Easter Bunny to Athlone during the Siege of Athlone and follow his adventures during one of the most turbulent times in Athlone’s history.
Each child that completes the trail, will have an opportunity to meet the Easter Bunny in person, take a photo with this very special visitor and receive their eggciting Easter surprise!
Pre-booking is required for this Easter Event as there will be limited spaces available. For further details and to pre-book your special ticket, please visit www.athlonecastle.ie/events
Easter at Athlone Castle is supported by Westmeath County Council and Creative Ireland.
