Fleadh Cheoil na hÉireann seeking volunteers to ensure successful hosting of music event

Volunteers are now being sought to assist in the smooth hosting of Fleadh Cheoil na hÉireann in Mullingar from July 31 to August 7 inclusive.

Certain to enthral locals and visitors to the Midlands region, the involvement of volunteers during Fleadh Cheoil na hÉireann is absolutely crucial to the events success.

With over 500,000 visitors expected in Mullingar and the Midlands region between July 31 and August 7, the organising committee will need the help of 1,200 volunteers to ensure that the event runs smoothly.

By volunteering at the Fleadh you will be a part of ‘The Homecoming’ welcoming the Fleadh home to Mullingar where it all started many years ago.

Participating as a volunteer will enable you to build new friendships, develop new skills and play an integral role in the success of the biggest festival of Irish culture in the world.

Volunteer Roles

Volunteers will be asked to fill a number of roles, from street stewards, assisting at competitions, being part of the Green Fleadh by helping to keep our streets clean, Fleadh Ambassadors, volunteering at concerts, helping with social media, photography and many other roles.

The minimum commitment is four hours and shifts vary from four to eight hours depending on the role, with shift hours throughout the day and night meaning there is a role and shift time to suit everyone.

You can volunteer to just do one shift or as many as you like, its up to you. We will be grateful for whatever time you can spare to help.

Volunteers must be over 15. If a volunteer is under 18 parental consent will be required.

Training

All volunteers will be asked to attend a mandatory training session in advance of Fleadh Cheoil na hÉireann which will be delivered from April onward with the application process now open at www.fleadhcheoil.ie
