Regina Bushell, CEO, Grovelands Childcare Plus, has been shortlisted for Image Magazine’s CEO of the Year award.
Established by Regina 30 years ago, Grovelands Childcare Plus offers award winning early learning and childcare in six state-of-the-art facilities throughout the Midlands region in Athlone, Mullingar and Tullamore.
Regina is widely recognised as a leading figure in the childcare sector, advocating for excellence and quality in early learning and childcare, supporting children to flourish and grow in positive, inspiring environments while advocating for improved pay and conditions for staff and affordability for parents.
She was an advisor to the minister and his department during the Covid-19 pandemic and worked with them in developing guidelines to reopening services in a safe manner.
Regina sits on numerous committees working directly with the Department of Children and Youth Affairs to improve early learning and childcare in Ireland for children and parents. She is founder and chair of Seas Suas, an organisation which represents independent childcare providers and is a council member of Childcare Services Ireland in IBEC.
Very much a family business, Regina’s husband Ronan is Finance Director, their daughter Deirdre Frampton-Bushell is Operations Manager and their son Caolan Bushell is also a director of Grovelands Childcare Plus.
As CEO, Regina leads a team of 130 early learning and childcare professionals or ‘educarers’ as they’re known in Grovelands, locally employed staff who live and work in the midlands.
