Award winning food photographer to host talk at Athlone Photography Club

Following the successful talk hosted by Irish Press Photographer of the Year, James Crosbie, earlier this month, Athlone Photography Club will welcome renowned food photographer, Harry Weir, to the Abbey Road Studio in April.

“Harry, from Studio 32 in Rathmines, or harryweir.com, kindly accepted an invitation to talk to the Athlone club on Wednesday, April 6, at 8pm in the Abbey Road Studio in Athlone.

“Despite the distance, Harry was actually far more interested in coming in person to Athlone to present his work in food photography. Harry has over 20 years of industry experience, working with a huge clientele that spans from small artisan producers to some of the biggest brands and commercial chains in the world.

“In 2015, he received the accolade of ‘National Magazine’ award photographer of the year. A superb visual storyteller, Harry plans to present images from his portfolio, present a practical demonstration and reveal essential knowledge on how to take good photos of our favourite dishes and more,” Liam Kidney, chairperson, stated.

This is a free event open to the public with those interested strongly encouraged to contact the club’s secretaries Ciara Kinnarney and Sébastien Rolland by email [email protected] to book their seat and arrive to the Abbey Road Studio at 7.45pm to enable the meeting commence at 8pm sharp.
