Local elected representatives were informed at the most recent sitting of Athlone-Moate Municipal District that the local authority executive is in the process of procuring professional services to prepare a Conservation Management Plan for the Portlick Amenity.
Responding to a question posed by Fine Gael Councillor, John Dolan, the council executive confirmed that a brief has been finalised and it is anticipated that following a procurement process, the appointment will be made in late March.
The intended outcome is the delivery of a plan to identify conservation management and biodiversity actions and possible amenity development opportunities appropriate to the sensitivities of the site.
