Volvo Cars is the top premium SUV brand purchase in January

After a strong start to 2022, Volvo Cars boasts of its position as number one premium SUV brand in Ireland in January, with its full XC range dominating the segment in January.

Last month saw the company achieve a increase of two-thirds in total sales growth in January compared to the similar month in 2021, bringing its market share to 1.92 percent for the first time ever.

The XC60 was the bestselling SUV in the premium segment, followed closely by its siblings, the XC90 and the XC40. Volvo Cars performance in Ireland mirrors the company’s global trends. In 2021, Volvo’s XC60 continued to be the company’s bestselling global model.

Volvo Cars says that last year, it strengthened the appeal of its XC60 with the introduction of the ground-breaking Android-powered infotainment system and the long-range battery on ‘Recharge’ models, significantly extending its electric range.

It added that these January results also demonstrate the continued popularity of Volvo Cars’ Recharge line-up of cars with a fully electric or plug-in hybrid powertrain. Recharge cars made up a large 86.8 per cent of the Volvo Car Ireland’s retail deliveries for January.
