Local Fine Gael Councillor, John Dolan, has welcomed the provision of new ramps in the Orchard estate in Athlone.
“I was approached by the residents and management company of The Orchard estate in relation to the speed of cars driving through the area which was a danger to the many children in the area in particular.
“I tabled a motion for the provision of these ramps last year and subsequently secured the funding for the ramps and I am now delighted that they are finally completed.
“I wish to thank Council Engineers, Denis Sloyan and Pat Nally, Council staff and the residents for their patience in waiting for the job to be done.
“I hope that the Orchard will be a safer estate for all the residents going forward,” Cllr Dolan asserted.
