Jack Carty has received an overdue recall to the Ireland Senior squad ahead of the forthcoming six nations championship with two further Buccaneers players also included in Andy Farrell’s 35-man panel, Robbie Henshaw and Finlay Bealham.
Four young Buccaneers receive Connacht pro contracts
Four young Buccaneers are among six players who have signed their first professional contracts with Connacht for the upcoming season.
Darragh Murray, Oisin McCormack, Shane Jennings and Ciaran Booth are the quartet of players who received positive paying career news in recent times and their achievement was afforded due recognition from Connacht Rugby Academy Manager Eric Elwood.
“I’d like to congratulate these players on their impending move to the pro team, and to their respective clubs and schools that have played a big part in their success. Everyone at Connacht Rugby has worked tremendously hard at all levels to give them the platform to succeed and I’d like to acknowledge the work done by the coaches as well as the wider Academy staff. That said, it’s up to the players themselves to take the opportunities afforded to them and they’ve done just that. I know they each have what is required to take that next step in their careers,” Eric noted.
