The HSE has confirmed that walk-in booster vaccination clinics will be operational in Moate Community Centre today (Thursday, December 23 ) and tomorrow (Friday, December 24 ) for those aged 40 and over.
Today's walk-in clinic is open from 2pm to 7pm, while booster vaccinations will be administered at the community centre tomorrow from 9am to 12pm.
The HSE is reminding persons that they must wait three months after their initial vaccine course before they can receive a booster.
Booster walk-in clinics are also operational for healthcare workers in Moate Community Centre this week with those intending to receive their booster advised to visit the HSE twitter account for up to date queuing times.
Meanwhile, a spokesperson for the HSE confirmed to the Athlone Advertiser this week that a total of 2,335 swabs for a Covid-19 PCR test were taken at the Athlone GAA site in the week of December 13.
"Individual breakdown of vaccines administered is not currently available," the HSE spokesperson additionally stated.
