The market launch of the new new Skoda Fabia in Ireland has been delayed due to the global shortage of microchips.
Microchips are essential for the operation of a variety of vehicle features, from power steering and backup cameras to emergency braking systems.
“The new Skoda Fabia will feature the latest Infotainment and safety systems that are heavily reliant on microchips. As a result and with regret we have to advise that production of the new Fabia has been delayed for Ireland and as a consequence will not launch until early 2022! As a possible alternative for customers, we will be announcing some attractive offers for the Scala, Kamiq and current Fabia models in the coming days.”
“I would like to thank our dealer partners and our customers for their understanding and co-operation during this challenging period,” John Donegan, Skoda Brand Director said.
Skoda Ireland says that it will provide new Fabia prices and other information at a later date.
