Local elected representatives were informed of development plans for Wansboro Park at the recent sitting of Athlone-Moate Municipal District with a Council executive response noting that the area is currently impacted by the Irish Water project to increase the capacity of the water treatment plant and will be impacted by the greenway bridge contract. It is proposed that enhancements to the park would be undertaken in 2023 following these projects and the Council will seek support towards the cost of this enhancement from the various bodies that have impacted the park in recent years.
