Cllr Naughten seeks verge trimming to address road safety

The need for verge trimming to take place throughout the county to address concerns for the safety of road users will be raised by Cllr John Naughten at the next meeting of Roscommon County Council.

“I will be raising the issue to request that the Council make adequate provision for verge trimming throughout the county over the coming months.

“A lot of the verges are now significantly overgrown and are a hazard to pedestrians and road users, particularly at junctions.

“This is particularly important on the local road network where junctions are seriously overgrown with vegetation and are in urgent need of attention to ensure the safety of motorists, pedestrians and cyclists,” Cllr Naughten stated.
